Community Health Outreach Programme
Community outreach programmes are an important vehicle for reducing the discovery-delivery disconnect by bringing health education and health screening services directly to community members.
Health Education and Services on NCDs
We provide training and build capacity in advocacy, communication and peer education on NCDs, which are important and effective approaches for ensuring education on NCDs and related health issues.
Socioeconomic Empowerment for Vulnerable Groups
Despite responses aimed at reducing NCDs, low wealth status and low educational attainment remain significant drivers of NCD prevalence in Uganda. There is a need to address the NCD health needs of populations with lower socioeconomic status, and this is where ASF Uganda comes in.
Policy, Research and Advocacy
Tackling NCD challenges requires a holistic approach that brings together education and awareness on NCDs, treatment products, medicines, lifestyle changes and citizen-friendly infrastructure. ASF Uganda is increasingly working with partners, including government, NGOs and individuals, to include NCD interventions in development-related projects.

Vocational Training and Skills Development
Life Skills: We teach youth and other vulnerable groups skills of goal setting, financial management, sexual and emotional health, timekeeping and communication
Vocational Skills: We provide employable skills through in-depth training with expert trainers, peer-to-peer learning, job shadowing, and job readiness. To expand our impact, we are planning to set up a dedicated Vocational Training Center in Busukuma Seeta, Wakiso District. This center will offer practical hands-on programs in salon and hairdressing, tailoring, soap making, and the production of reusable sanitary pads to empower young people and vulnerable women with self-sustaining skills.

Support and Partnerships to Fight Non-Communicable Diseases
To lessen the impact of NCDs on individuals and society, ASF Uganda deploys a comprehensive approach requiring all sectors, including health, finance, transport, education, agriculture, planning and others, to collaborate to reduce the risks associated with NCDs and promote interventions to prevent and control them.
