Building Healthier Communities Through STEAM

Alobo STEAM Foundation combines routine mobile non-communicable disease screenings with practical vocational training to address chronic illness and economic vulnerability across Wakiso District.

About us

Alobo STEAM Foundation (ASF Uganda) is an organisation based on STEAM projects.

The acronym STEAM stands for:

● Science: Advancing community health education, NCD risk awareness, and routine medical screening.

● Technology: Harnessing modern digital tools and innovation to deliver effective community outreach and training.

● Economics: Driving financial literacy, vocational skills, and income-generating opportunities for vulnerable populations.

● Arts: Utilizing creative communication, craft skills, and hands-on design to engage communities and build livelihoods.

● Mathematics: Applying data collection, research, and evaluation to measure health impact and guide program strategy.

The organisation is registered with the Government of Uganda as a Not-for-Profit Organisation.

ASF Uganda aims to promote health education, sensitisation of the community and provide routine medical assessment of non-communicable diseases to the underprivileged in Uganda. The organisation also aims at economic empowerment of vulnerable groups and promoting education and routine risk assessment of non-communicable diseases affecting vulnerable people, including women, children, youth and elderly people.

Our Goal

To reduce the non-communicable disease burden by 30% in the next 5 years through routine medical assessment and sensitisation.

To expand our impact, we are establishing a dedicated Vocational Training Center in Busukuma Seeta, offering hands-on programs in tailoring, soap making, and financial literacy to empower women and youth.
